Thanks to the generosity of Stowe Family Law LLP we were able to offer a trip to our members at our favourite cinema, Lucem in St Helens, during the February half term holidays. Lucem is a community interest company which is volunteer led and not run for profit. The cinema is very well maintained and the volunteers are so friendly, welcoming and accomodating. It is a fabulous venue especially for our members who may find a large cinema environment with other members of the public overwhelming. We had the cinema to ourselves and we watched ‘Raya and the Last Dragon’ which was a great animated fantasy adventure film which follows Raya, a warrior princess who must find the fabled last dragon in order to save her divided home world from a ravenous plague.
The film kept us all transfixed with some of our members telling us that it was the first time that their children had sat so long through a film! The tasty popcorn and hotdogs served to us also went down a treat with hot drinks and squashes also provided. Our fabulous trustee and secretary of the charity, Vicky, had also put together pick and mix sweet bags for everyone which were soon snaffled up. All in all, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the event and we cant wait for our next trip to Lucem in April.
